EMDR Intensives In-Person in Long Beach & Virtually across California & Florida
Stop Circling the Same Problem.
Let’s Target It.
Extended targeted therapy sessions for patterns, memories, relationship issues, anxiety, and experiences that keep taking up space.
Sometimes you don't need another 50-minute conversation.
You need focused time to work on the thing that keeps coming back.
A relationship pattern. A painful memory. A recent experience. Anxiety you can't shut off. A breakup you can't seem to move past. Or a problem you've talked about before but still don't feel any different about.
90-minute+ accelerated sessions give us more time to slow down, get specific, and work directly with what is keeping you stuck.
When Something Keeps Coming Up, There's Usually More to Work With
You may understand your situation logically.
You may know what you should do.
You may have talked about it with friends, read the books, listened to the podcasts, or even been to therapy before.
And yet...
You keep thinking about the same person or situation.
The same relationship pattern keeps happening.
You can't stop replaying something that happened.
You know something affected you, but you're not sure why.
You understand your anxiety, but you still can't calm down.
You keep reacting in ways you don't like.
A recent incident has brought up something much bigger.
You feel like you're circling the same issue without getting anywhere.
That's where focused therapy can help.
Rather than trying to cover your entire life in one session, we identify what you want to work on and use the session intentionally.

Why Choose an EMDR Intensive?
More time means we don't have to stop right when we're getting somewhere.
A typical 50-minute session can feel like:
settle in → talk → get into the work → look at the clock → stop.
With 90 minutes or more, we have room to stay with the work.
You can get through bigger chunks of processing, follow an insight when it comes up, and spend more time working through what’s underneath the pattern instead of having to pause and pick it back up the following week.
For me, 90 minutes gives us a completely different amount of space to work with.
Less stop-and-go. More time to actually work.
What Your EMDR Intensive Looks Like
You’ll know what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and what to expect along the way.
1. Start With a Consult
We’ll start with a brief consultation call to make sure an intensive feels like the right fit for what you’re looking for. From there, we’ll schedule your intake.
2. Your Intake + Preparation
Your first session is about getting to know you, your history, what’s bringing you in, and what you want to change.
Together, we'll identify what feels most important to prioritize and where EMDR may be most helpful.
I’ll also begin teaching you the skills and tools you’ll need to feel prepared and grounded throughout the process. You won't be thrown into the deep end.
3. We Get to Work
Once we've identified a target to work on, we'll begin the EMDR process.
The goal isn't to erase a memory or pretend something didn't happen. We're working to reduce the emotional charge connected to it, including the somatic and physical responses that can still show up.
We'll also work with the beliefs connected to the experience and begin planting new, more supportive beliefs that you can move forward with.
Less “I know this logically.” More “I can actually feel this differently.”
4. Bring the New Beliefs Forward
As the work progresses, we'll take those more supportive beliefs and apply them to future situations.
What happens when you experience a similar trigger?
How do you want to respond differently?
What would it feel like to trust yourself in that moment?
We'll practice bringing what you've worked on into the situations you're likely to encounter outside of therapy.
5. Reassess + Decide What's Next
Once we've completed the work, we'll pause and reassess.
Does the progress feel meaningful and complete enough for now?
Or is there another area you'd like to focus on?
There’s no requirement to keep going just because we started. We’ll look at where you are, what has changed, and what makes sense for you next.
What Makes a 90-Minute Session Different?
More time. More focus. Less stopping and starting.
A standard therapy session can go by quickly.
By the time we catch up, understand what's happening, and figure out where to go, the session may already be coming to an end.
With 90 minutes, we have more room to actually work.
Depending on what you need, we may:
Identify the target
Get clear on the specific problem, memory, pattern, or experience you want to address.
Understand what's underneath it
Look at the beliefs, emotions, protective patterns, and relationship experiences connected to it.
Do deeper therapeutic work
Using EMDR, parts work, relational therapy, nervous-system-based approaches, or other tools that fit your needs.
Integrate what comes up
Make sense of the experience and connect the work to your life today.
Leave with direction
You won't spend the final five minutes trying to figure out what we're doing next.
The goal isn't to rush therapy.
The goal is to use your time intentionally.
What Can We Work On?
A relationship pattern
You keep choosing the same type of relationship, getting stuck in the same conflict, or abandoning yourself in relationships.
A breakup
You're functioning, but you can't stop thinking about them, replaying what happened, or wondering what you could have done differently.
A memory
Something happened years ago, and you know it still affects how you see yourself, other people, or relationships.
A recent incident
Something happened recently and it brought up a much bigger reaction than you expected.
Anxiety and overthinking
Your brain keeps running through possibilities, conversations, mistakes, or worst-case scenarios.
A deeper issue
You keep dealing with the same problem and have a feeling there's something underneath it that you haven't fully addressed.
Something you can't quite explain that causes a physical reaction
You know something isn't working, but you don't know exactly why.
You don't need to have the perfect explanation before you come in. We can figure that out together.
Who Are EMDR Intensives For?
Intensives can be a great fit if you want focused therapy without committing to traditional weekly therapy long-term.
This may be right for you if you:
Have a specific issue you want to work on and don't want to spend months talking around it.
Have a busy schedule and want to make the most of your limited therapy time.
Don't want to be in therapy long-term but know there’s something you want to work through.
Understand your patterns intellectually but still find yourself reacting the same way emotionally or physically.
Feel stuck in a particular relationship pattern, trigger, memory, or experience.
Want more uninterrupted time to do the work instead of stopping every 50 minutes just as you're getting somewhere.
Are ready for focused, active therapy and want to participate in the process rather than simply talk about what's happening.
Want a more private, intentional therapy experience where you can step away from your usual routine and really focus.
You don't have to have everything figured out.
You don't need to know exactly why you're stuck or what needs to be processed. That's part of what we'll figure out together during your intake.
You just need to know: “Something isn't working, and I want to work on it.”
How it Works?
1. Start with a 60-minute intake $200
Before scheduling an accelerated session, we'll spend 60 minutes getting to know your history, what's bringing you in, and what you're hoping to change.
We'll determine whether this format is a good fit for what you're looking for.
2. Choose your target
You don't need to have everything figured out.
We'll identify the issue you want to focus on and decide where to begin.
3. Meet for a 90-minutes or a 2-hour accelerated session
This is your focused work session.
We'll spend the time going deeper rather than trying to squeeze meaningful work into the last few minutes of a standard session.
4. Decide what's next
You may decide you want another accelerated session.
You may want to continue with regular therapy.
Or you may feel like you've gotten what you needed from the focused work.
There's no requirement to commit to ongoing therapy.
FAQ EMDR Intensives
It can be. I'm a certified EMDR therapist, and EMDR may be used when it's clinically appropriate. We may also use parts work, relational therapy, nervous-system-based approaches, or other therapeutic techniques depending on what you're working on.
Is this EMDR?
1
No. You don't need a major traumatic event to benefit from focused therapy. A relationship pattern, recent experience, anxiety, breakup, memory, or recurring emotional reaction can all be appropriate areas to explore.
Do I have to be dealing with a major trauma?
2
The first step is a 60-minute intake. After that, we'll determine whether a 90-minutes or 2 hours accelerated session makes sense for your needs. Some people use this as a short-term focused approach, while others continue with ongoing therapy.
Can I come in just for one 90-minute session?
3
Will one session fix my problem?
4
Therapy can't promise that one session will resolve an issue completely. Everyone processes things at a different rate depending on many factors, and I won’t be able to know this until we do a 90 minuate session, then I will get an idea of how many sessions it might take. The purpose of the 90-minute format is to give us more uninterrupted time to work deeply and intentionally on a specific target.
